Aaaand, we're back with the second segment of my post-birthday reflections. I just submitted my resume to Summit Eedia earlier today, endorsing my interest to apply for the an editorial assistant position over at Men's Health Magazine. I've only read the mag once - yesterday, when I picked up a copy on my way to work (just on impulse, really).
Am I in over my head here?
So, what of it? It looks pretty good - it's embedded with plenty of short snippets for those looking for a quick read. And as expected - it's littered with tidbits on health-related topics, ranging from low-calorie recipes (I better try some), and alternative weight-lifting and calisthenic routines. No dice on the latter though, those moves are too advanced for a guy like me. They do look fun.
The meat of the magazine had several interviews and feature pieces. I just scanned most of 'em, but I must say I like the pacing for their airsoft article. I did an article on that before - the one I was glossing over was definitely more well-researched. Figures - it's a magazine, they're paid to do this. Here's to hoping I can move up to that level of proficiency in the near future.
As for my current jobs, a lot my friends and coworkers were asking me the same thing: Why? My blogging position gives me plenty of money burn; That's roughly Php 16,500 per month, which is pretty good even compared to the likes of call centers. That's not including my night differential, or the Php 1500 monthly bonus I get for my perfect attendance record, which brings my current take-home purse to around 9,000 bi-monthly. That's a lot of cash. Indeed, what the hell am I doing?
There's much for me to say about this matter, but unfortunately, I'm running out of time - I need to get ready for another day at the office, and hope the interview invite doesn't end up messing with my promotional exam scheduled for Friday,
